yamuna quote feet

Every time I look at any body issue I begin with the feet. The feet have everything to do with any other part of your body that you are having problems with. Remember, you stand on your feet, weight bearing in the exact way that the alignment and pressure build up travels to every other part of you. Building a solid well aligned and functioning use of your feet will help you to unwind from the ground up. Simply observe people walking down the street. Watch theirbody movements and posture and you will notice how the feet are holding the pattern that keeps people stuck. Very often back, neck and shoulder problems begin to clear up once the feet are working more efficiently and correctly. Everyone improves their body wellness and Body Sustainability when they begin to rebuild their foundation, their feet!

Building a solid core begins with building a healthy functional foundation in your feet. When your feet are aligned and function properly, they propel the body forward and upward in movement. The feet as core begin the lifting upward of the body’s energy. This energy passes upward into the abdomen where the abdominal muscles can pull it upward to connect with the expansion of the ribcage and full lung capacity. Accessing the lungs allows the upper body to unwind and float upward creating more space to the abdomen and lumbar spine. The neck and head are supported upward by the free flowing breath coming from full lung usage. These 3 connecting body parts are core to building a healthy upright, free, toned and flexible body.

During those times when you have to sit for hours in one place there are always ways to keep doing positive things for your body. Try this if you find you have to sit for periods of time and feel drained by doing This. Lean back in the chair and begin to breath into the

back of your body. Use the chair to press into as you inhale. With each inhalation breath and lengthen your back upward in the chair. With each exhalation press each part of your back against the chair. Breathe into your back for about 5 minutes. Then focus on breathing just into your sides. Try to get greater space between each rib as you breath up into your armpits, sides of neck and head. Do this for 5 minutes. Now breath into the front of your body from your pubic bone lengthening your abdomen, lower ribs, sternum, front of neck and face upward with each inhalation. As you exhale soften. Do this for 5 minutes. Now fully breath into your entire torso, neck and head for 5 minutes. Breathe into every part of your shoulder joint. Get the cobwebs out. When you stand up, you will feel clear and tall and very centered.
